The annual Southern Amp concert, in association with Oxfam NZ, has refocused all efforts this year as Official South Island Benefit Concert for the Samoa Tsunami Appeal and we need your help to assist us in raising maximum awareness and much required aid! Last week’s images on TV shocked us all with so many people affected by the devastating events in Samoa but we CAN do something about it by pulling together quickly.

Music is the global call to action, Music brings people together and makes the loudest noise in the quickest possible time to rally support for major causes. Southern Amp already has the vehicle to do this so will donate proceeds from each ticket sold to the Southern Amp 09 concert scheduled for 12th November in Christchurch as well as a profit contribution over and above direct operating costs via Oxfam NZ directly to the Samoa Tsunami Benefit. This is a mass communication for a very massive appeal and to make the biggest possible relief contribution, we need as much support and assistance as we can get over the next 5 weeks to ensure we can raise a significant contribution to the Samoa Tsunami Appeal. We are inviting ANYONE who can possibly assist from all parts of commercial industry in NZ, in any capacity at all, by supporting Southern Amp in any way you can to help us in raising as much awareness as humanly possible for this Appeal and making this concert a major fundraising success. - We can use any spare Radio or TV airtime, print adspace, outdoor advertising or website banner ads immediately.

- We invite any sponsor contributions of any value, small or large, in relevant contra or cash donations.

- We suggest group ticket purchases for office staff, the day after the concert is a public holiday in Canterbury.

- We welcome other artists to donate their time & get involved with the event.

- We welcome the travel industry to assist us with artist travel, hotels, ground transport, etc

- We welcome any possible contributions or reductions to fixed costs for staging the event.

- We need anyone’s help through personal Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bebo and any other social networking sites to spread the word.

- But mostly we can use EVERYONE’S help in spreading the word and information as quickly as possible through your regular contacts, offices, clients, students, friends & families.

Southern Amp 09 is R15 Restricted, tickets on sale NOW through Ticketek from just $69.50 + booking fees. Our neighbours have lost lives, families, homes, villages and whole communities. A small contribution can make a massive difference and live music can get the message across.
