Barfoot & Thompson shining bright at Diwali Festival of Lights

Auckland’s leading real estate company Barfoot & Thompson will join in the celebrations at the annual Diwali Festival of Lights on October 30 and 31 at Aotea Centre and Square.

The annual festival celebrates Indian culture and symbolises the victory of good over evil with vibrant lights, fireworks, authentic music and dance, and delicious Indian cuisine at every turn.

Managing Director Peter Thompson says the company’s appreciation of Auckland’s cultural diversity is central to Barfoot & Thompson’s sponsorship of the festival, which is now a popular fixture on the city’s event calendar.

“Auckland is a melting pot of different cultures, and the Diwali Festival is a great opportunity for people to come together to enjoy Indian food, music and spectacular entertainment during this two day celebration.”

Mr Thompson says Barfoot & Thompson’s own team of salespeople, which represents more than 35 different ethnicities, reflect Auckland’s status as New Zealand’s most culturally diverse community.

Barfoot & Thompson has been operating in Auckland for more than 85 years, and now offers a network of nearly 1,000 salespeople at over 60 branches across region.

Barfoot & Thompson staff will be on hand at the company’s marquee at the Diwali Festival of Lights to assist anyone wishing to find out more about selling or buying a home.

The Diwali Festival of Lights is a free public event, and will be held at Aotea Centre and Square – The Edge in Auckland City from 12noon to 10:00pm on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October.  More information is available at the Auckland City Council event page: www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/whatson/events/diwali
