The Auckland Wind Orchestra presents LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

The Auckland Wind Orchestra presents LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION: a concert of film, TV and theatre music conducted by Paul G. Radden with guest soloist Christine Rawlings on violin.

The concert will be at St Chad's Church in Meadowbank (38 St Johns Road) on Sunday 3rd April 2011 at 2pm.

Having played on previous occasions with the Auckland Wind Orchestra, Paul now returns to conduct the band. Paul's natural musical talent and passion for music has led him to many Musical Director roles. He recently won a NAPTA for Best Musical Direction for the hit show Blood Brothers put on by Manukau Performing Arts.

Paul's enjoyment of film, theatre and TV music inspired this programme and favourites of his on the programme include Chess, Star Wars and SeaQuest. Paul's love for the horn led him to rewrite the horn parts for some of the pieces so that more of the beautiful sound of the instrument can be heard. With a range of music from much-loved musicals such as Miss Saigon and the Phantom of the Opera, the film and TV classic Thunderbirds and more, there is something for everyone to sit back, listen to and enjoy.

Christine Rawlings studied with violinist and APO concertmaster, Dmitri Atanassov, for 10 years before entering a medical career. Her musical pursuits have included chamber music competitions, the Epsom Girls Grammar Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras and the Auckland Youth Orchestra for 7 years.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $ 15 for children/seniors and $60 for a family (2 adults, up to 4 children). This price includes admission, a scone and drink.
