NEWS RELEASE 5 July 2011

Win tickets when Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow rolls into town

Wellingtonians will be able to feel the buzz when the Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) Roadshow rolls into the Capital on Wednesday 13 July.

The RWC 2011 Roadshow will be at Odlins Plaza, outside the Wharewaka on the waterfront, from 6.30-9.30am on 13 July. The two best-dressed fans to attend in RWC 2011 countries' colours or costumes, will win a pair of RWC 2011 match tickets each.

This competition is just one of many in the lead-up to the Tournament. From late August there will also be prizes for dressing up homes, cars, workplaces and more. More information will be available soon so people are encouraged to start dreaming of creative ways to dress up their surroundings - possibly using RWC 2011 flag bunting as a starting point. At the Roadshow, fans can have their photograph taken with the Webb Ellis Cup and experience interactive displays and videos on the Tournament's history and legends.

Visitors to the Roadshow will be able to buy RWC 2011 tickets and preview the events planned around the Tournament in the REAL New Zealand Festival and Wellington's Festival of Carnivale.

Each 'stop' on the Roadshow adopts a team and ours is Australia. Roadshow organisers are calling for Australians (and fans of Australia) to come and show their support - if they turn up just before 7am they might also be spotted on TV One's Breakfast programme, which will be doing live crosses. Soul-jazz trio Twinset will play Australian songs and a World of WearableArt(tm) model will parade around in a Sydney Harbour Bridge costume.

Visitors to the Roadshow can see images from the Black Boots exhibition - All Black great Andy Leslie will be on hand with quirky stories - and hear the City of Wellington Pipe Band and watch the Migrating Kitchen participants show off some stunning dishes and their national dress.
