Australasia’s Best Lace-Up for the $50,001 Prize!

Foot Locker announces top 25 finalists and the opening of People’s Choice voting for its new and prestigious Art Prize

13 July 2011, Australia and New Zealand – Following the astounding interest across Australia and New Zealand, and after receiving over 6,000 entries, Foot Locker Australasia today announced the finalists of The Foot Locker Art Prize: The World’s Richest Colouring Competition.

With a coveted first prize cash value of AUD$50,001 – trumping The Archibald Prize by one dollar – the Foot Locker Art Prize well and truly shook up the art world and challenged people to question what truly is art.

The public can now vote for their favourite entry in the ‘People’s Choice’ category at www.footlockerartprize.com

The Foot Locker Art Prize was open to all residents of Australia and New Zealand, with entries individually critiqued by a panel of judges including famed UK Artist, Dave White, Sneaker Freaker Magazine Editor, Simon ‘Woody’ Wood and renowned Australian Art Critic, Andrew Frost.

Peoples Choice voting is open until 27 July, 2011. A gallery exhibition showcasing the finalists will be held on 28 July in the home of the Archibald Prize, The Art Gallery of NSW, where the winner of the $50,001 cash prize will be revealed.
