EARTHTONZ, just got bigger

Earthtonz - Queenstown Music Festival Gets Bigger!

EARTHTONZ, the biggest NYE party in the South Island this year, just got bigger!

In addition to main stage acts Tommy Lee (Motely Crue) & DJ Aero, The Crystal Method, British break beat musicians The Freestylers, hip hop legend DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill), Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak, AK 1200/DJ Dara/MC Messinian (Planet of the Drums), Boombox, Ana Sia, Heatbox and NZ’s own Minuit, a second stage at Queenstown’s Gibbston Valley, named The Edge Bass Camp, will run especially for Earthtonz Festival campers from 2pm to midnight on 30 December.

Featured at The Edge Bass Camp will be Hamilton musicians Knights of the Dub Table Soundsystem, Dunedin groups Hunting Bears and Simple Thieves, Invercargill band Rhythmonyx and Queenstown based acts The Station Agents, Dub Side, Getto Blaster and The Fletcherz. DJ’s and MC’s will keep the party going by cutting up the music breaks courtesy of The Edge FM.

Earthtonz American partner Dan Allen said the Kiwi bands bring another dimension to the event.
“Extending the festival to include more NZ acts has provided both the opportunity for local bands to play alongside some of the world’s best electronica, drum n bass, dub step, hip-hop, progressive house and techno groups, while showcasing NZ’s rising talent in the pop, rock, reggae, funk and soul genre ” said Allen

Headlining Edge Bass Camp, KNIGHTS OF THE DUB TABLE Soundsystem, combine elements of reggae, drum n bass, hip-hop and rock into their own fusion of dub flavoured music. With powerful high-energy live performances, the Knights have played alongside Katchafire, dDub, Rhombus, Cornerstone Roots, Opensouls, Optimus Gryme, Tiki Taane, the Black Seeds and popular Australian dub outfits The Versionaries and Groundation. In 2010 they released their debut Tronic EP containing four original tracks and five remixes from Tiki Taane, Optimus Gryme, AUM, Undertow and their very own Mr Samy'samson (distributed by Border Music). Their debut album, titled Way of the DUB, is out now. Don’t miss them at Earthtonz!
