MOTAT NIGHTS, CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Glistening lights, Christmas delights, joyous carols and generous presents... Christmas has arrived at MOTAT!

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from December 14 - 23, plus on Christmas Eve, MOTAT visitors can look forward to celebrating the magic of Christmas at ‘MOTAT Nights, Christmas Lights’ as MOTAT’s Victorian Village is lit up with thousands of shimmering fairy lights.

With live entertainment, music, night tram rides and beautiful Christmas displays from 8pm to 11pm, there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
Entry to ‘MOTAT Nights, Christmas Lights’ is by gold coin donation, with all proceeds going towards purchasing Christmas gifts for New Zealand charities Barnardos and the Auckland City Mission.

Share the joy and make someone else’s Christmas extra special this festive season by enjoying your own day out at MOTAT!

Visitors to the Museum of Transport and Technology in December have the option of donating a Christmas present from MOTAT’s gift shop to someone less fortunate, instead of paying the normal admission fee.

Thanks to MOTAT visitors, a special shipment of donated Christmas presents will be delivered to Kiwi families through New Zealand charities, Barnardos and the Auckland City Mission. The charities are well known for their outstanding family support and this initiative will ensure that many more Kiwi families have gifts to give to their loved ones this Christmas.

If you would like to celebrate this Christmas in a magical way, head down to MOTAT with your family from December 1 – 24.

IMAGINATION FACTORY HEADING TO MOTAT

MOTAT’s newest travelling exhibition ‘Imagination Factory’ is set to delight, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the magic of pistons, wheels, levers, pulleys, cams and gears through dozens of hands-on interactive displays.

All the way from Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre ‘Questacon,’ the fascinating ‘Imagination Factory’ exhibition is set to capture the minds and fuel the imaginations of MOTAT visitors young and old.

Open from 9 December 2012, visitors will love exploring basic mechanical tools and uncovering how they can be used to create ingenious inventions in this engaging exhibition.

A mind-boggling experience for all ages, MOTAT is offering a special preview for MOTAT Mates Annual Pass Holders on Saturday 8 December. Get there!
