NZ Secondary Schools Netball Team Named
11 April 2013:
Netball New Zealand today announced the 12 girls selected in
the 2013 New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Netball Team
that will represent New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman
Secondary Schools Netball Tournament, a competition that is
based in New Zealand and Australia on alternate years, and
will be held in Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre from the
27th - 30th May, 2013.
After a rigorous week of putting the 29 triallists through their paces at the Trusts Arena, NZSS Coach Marianne Delaney believes she has picked a team that can carry on the legacy created by many a winning NZSS team gone before.
“The commitment, desire and dedication to fitness of all triallists made it a difficult job for selectors,” Delaney said.
“I am looking forward to working with these exciting young players as it will be a first ‘international hitout’ experience for most of the selected.”
The New Zealand Secondary Schools team will come together in early May for a three day camp before heading into the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Netball Tournament to compete against School Sport Australia, Indigenous School Sport Australia, Bukit Jalil Sport School Malaysia, Samoa, Fiji, Aotearoa Maori, Pacifika, Pacific Rim and New Zealand Area Schools.
