Kiwis Touched by Poetry in the Streets
Kiwi's Touched by Poetry in the
Streets
Phantom Billstickers marks iconic Kiwi
author Janet Frame's birthday by putting posters of her
poetry up in the streets throughout New
Zealand.
Phantom Billstickers has added a splash
of colour, energy and thought into the streets of New
Zealand since 1982.
Our Poems on Posters project started five years ago and since then we have placed thousands of poetry posters up around the world on poles, in cafes, across walls. We have crossed borders and bridges to do this and enjoyed every minute of it.
Janet Frame's birthday is August 28th (1924-2004). We very much like and admire her work. It gives us, and many other Kiwis, the opportunity for thought and reflection. It shows us the road forward. Janet Frame's work is always deeply real and it touches people in a variety of ways.
To mark her birthday this year we are producing a poster of her poem, "When the Sun Shines More Years Than Fear".
You will see this going up in the streets of New Zealand over these next few weeks.
We couldn't be happier.
Thank you for the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Phantom Billstickers
