Step Dave - New Comedy Coming To TV2

STEP DAVE – NEW COMEDY-DRAMA SERIES COMING TO TV2

Monday 21 October, 2013

Brand new local comedy/drama series, Step Dave, is set to take viewers on a rollicking journey of romance, drama and laughter on Tuesday nights on TV2 in 2014.

Created by well-known New Zealand writer, Kate McDermott (Go Girls, Outrageous Fortune) and produced by South Pacific Pictures, Step Dave follows Dave, a 24-year-old Kiwi slacker whose life is turned upside down when he meets the woman of his dreams, Cara – 15 years his senior with three kids and some serious baggage in tow.

The show will star Sia Trokenheim (Siones II, This Is Not My Life) as Cara and Jono Kenyon (Go Girls) as Dave.

TV2 Programmer, John Kelly says Step Dave will be an integral part of TV2’s New Season programming next year.

Step Dave will play in a primetime slot on Tuesdays next year. Its winning formula of relatable characters, hilarious moments and strong storylines contribute to it being one of the key pillars of TV2’s 2014 season.”

TVNZ Drama and Comedy Commissioner, Kathleen Anderson says, “TVNZ is thrilled to bring viewers this brand new drama series that’s fresh and original. The chemistry between our two leads is electric.

“Thank you to NZ On Air and the talented team at South Pacific Pictures for bringing it to life.”

Step Dave will commence shooting next month.
