Jono And Ben to Bring Vanilla Ice to NZ

‘Jono and Ben at Ten’ and The Rock are bringing 90s rap icon Vanilla Ice to New Zealand for a one-off concert at Auckland’s Powerstation on Friday 24th October, thanks to V’s ‘Give it a V’ campaign.

“The ‘Give it a V’ campaign is about opening up to consumers and clearly showing them what it actually means to give something a V,” says Luke Rive, Energy Category Manager at Frucor. “Take the ordinary, everyday, and set about making it awesome.” The energy drink has already given a V to darts, art, even photo-bombing!

Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce asked the nation what they’d like to see ‘get a V’ and they answered with the now infamous Ice Bucket Challenge. Jono and Ben plan to deliver the ultimate Ice Bucket Challenge by bringing the Iceman himself – Vanilla Ice – out to New Zealand.

“We’re excited that one of our favourite 90s artists is going to help us make the Ice Bucket Challenge bigger and better,” says Boyce. “No doubt Vanilla Ice will be looking forward to getting to stop, collaborate and listen to us scream like little girls when he covers us in ice.”

“Jono and Ben are the perfect partners for V because they understand the brand and what we are doing with the ‘Give it a V’ campaign,” adds Rive. “Their tongue and cheek approach appeals to our shared audience and will make for some great content.”

Tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event are free, the first limited ticket release will be online at www.therock.net.nz from 6pm, Monday October 13. The public can also watch ‘Jono and Ben at Ten’ or listen to Jono & Ben, 3–7pm weekdays on The Rock for more chances to win tickets.

Ends.
