New Manager For Otaki Children’s Health Camp

The NZ Foundation for Child and Family Health and Development is pleased to announce the appointment of Fleur Grenfell as Manager of the Otaki Children’s Health Camp.

Dr Fiona Inkpen, Chief Executive of the Foundation said:

“We are delighted and excited to have Fleur as Manager of Otaki and as a member of our National Management Team. People who have worked with Fleur describe her as an inspiring leader with a passionate and enduring commitment for supporting people to develop and grow.

“Fleur is a highly experienced manager with a good knowledge of government contracts and their associated service delivery requirements. She has a proven track record of stepping into challenging roles and delivering results and sees this move to Children’s Health Camps as a way of continuing to be a catalyst for changing lives.

“Fleur started her career as a teacher, managed a training college, and has held senior management positions in the Department of Justice and the Department of Corrections since 1984.

“Fleur is best known for her role as General Manager of Arohata Women’s Prison where she achieved a reputation for innovation and best practice. Her concern was with developing and implementing exciting but practical programmes that enabled the women to change. Projects included “Stars Behind Bars” and the creation of a successful therapeutic community drug and alcohol treatment programme at Arohata in partnership with the National Society of Alcohol and Drug Dependency.

“In addition to her teaching and managerial experience, Fleur is adding an MBA. She is a recipient of a Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship.

Fleur said:

“I am returning to my first love, children, but now with considerable experience which can only add to my ability to contribute. My job, with my team, is to support the children and their families to identify their strengths and build upon them. Through this, family and child can keep, or rediscover, the magic of childhood.”
