Health board recognises innovation and quality
Health workers involved in improving quality and reducing risk have formally been recognised by the Waitemata District Health Board at its annual clinical achievement awards.
Held at North Harbour Stadium on Friday, August 8, the awards were organised by the DHB’s clinical board and attracted nearly 70 entries from all areas of the organisation.
Winning entries included a Warfarin medication project, a diabetes care support service for GPs, a medication management project, management of severe patient injury, Asian health support initiatives and the Waitakere Hospital wayfinding project.
Clinical board chairman Dr Stephen Burmeister says he was impressed by the high standard of entries and the diverse range of activities they represented.
“The awards are all about improving quality, reducing risk, making systems safer and encouraging innovation. It is heartening to see that many staff from all areas of the organisation are working hard to improve our overall care of patients.”
