Opportunities Expand in Weight Management Business

Rapidly gaining weight in the weight loss industry, System Slim NZ is looking to add 15 new clinics to its retinue in 2011. This successful organisation was established eight years ago and already has 35 clinics across New Zealand, as well as in Ireland. General Manager Sarah Buckley says we have enquiries daily from people needing support in the Auckland area and there’s room for another 8 clinics spread across the city. “In the last six months to a year, our main focus has been on the lower North Island where we’ve opened 6 new clinics. As well as Auckland, we see opportunities for operators to be self-employed in the Waikato and the Bay of Plenty areas.”

The majority of clinic’s are in pharmacies, it is seen as a good ethical programme that offers effective weight loss solutions for their clients. The balances of their clinics are self-employed consultants, health food stores and gyms.

Now with their focus on the upper North Island there are opportunities of a licence with system:slim to become part of the Team and be part of a well-known, well-supported, reputable brand. The start up cost is low and includes initial stock parcel, comprehensive training and marketing.

system:slim believes supporting their licensees and consultants has been a contributing factor to the overall success of their programme. The System Slim weight management programme was developed by a dietician and a nutritionist to help people take advantage of good eating principles. Says Sarah , who is a nutritionist herself, “This is not a fad diet. There are no pre-packaged foods or shakes. That’s what people love about the programme. It’s just good, healthy food that comes straight from your own pantry. Our consultants educate clients to eat the right foods at the right time and in the right quantities”. One on one consultations involve client interviews which consider the client’s medical history, current nutritional details, food likes and dislikes in order to recommend a suitable nutritional programme. All clients receive a review from the company naturopath which helps them address individual health issues and offers specific recommendations for better health and weight loss, these support the consultant in her role.

Consultants can be anyone who is passionate about helping and supporting their clients in a healthy lifestyle. Sarah said “We have consultants with a variety of backgrounds some are trained or training nutritionists, naturopaths or nurses and some have been women that have lost weight themselves. But what all the consultants have in common is a desire & passion to help people improve their health and wellbeing”.

Consultants can work the hours they want, to fit around other commitments and their clients’. “Income depends on motivation, clinic location and how much time consultants are prepared to invest in their business & marketing. Our consultants tell us they earn a great income for the hours worked, doing a job they love and our clinics boast a fantastic client retention rate which is a testimony to the job our consultants do.”
