Australian Labor Party

CreanAustralian Labor Party Leader Simon
Crean has been re-elected leader of the ALP in a
meeting of the party's 92 strong parliamentary caucus this
morning.

BeazleyThe vote was held as a result of a
challenge for the leadership mounted by former leader Kim
Beazley. Simon Crean received 58 votes to Beazley's
34.
Addressing the media after the vote Kim Beazley ruled
out a later challenge against
Crean.
