Scoop Link: SSTs Reports SIS Agents Investigate Zaoui Friends
Scoop Link: New Zealand Security Intelligence Officers (SIS) have conducted an operation gathering information on Ahmed Zaoui from acquaintances and friends in the greater Auckland region - the Sunday Star Times has reported.
The Star Times' Donna Chisholm reported: "Men identifying themselves as SIS agents have arrived unannounced at the homes of Algerian refugees in Auckland and quizzed them about Ahmed Zaoui.
"Zaoui's lawyer Deborah Manning has asked Prime Minister Helen Clark - the minister in charge of the Security Intelligence Service - why the operation was conducted and whether she was aware of it or approved it. A spokeswoman for Clark told the Sunday Star-Times she had no comment on SIS operational matters," Donna Chisholm wrote.
