Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull-Fimmvörduháls volcano erupts - image taken at 12.50PM GMT 19/4/2010

Hopes of a resumption of air services out of London were dashed today when Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull burst back into mega volcanic plume building business as pictured in the image above taken by NASA's MODIS satellite imaging system. The volcanic ash plume stretches south out across the North Sea towards Scotland.

Just a day earlier on the 18th at 2pm the skies around Iceland were relatively clear as you can see in the below image.
