MPs To Debate Search And Surveillance Bill After Recess

When Parliament sits next after a one week adjournment the Government intends to complete the debate in reply to the Speech from the Throne, Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said today.

It would also look to progress a number of first readings as well as the Search and Surveillance Bill, he said in his weekly Business Statement to Parliament.

The Budget Policy Statement was presented as were the Ombudsman’s report on access into prison health services and the supplementary report of the Abortion Supervisory committee 2010/2011.

Select committee reports were presented on the:

2010/11 financial review of the Office of the Controller and Auditor-General by the Finance and Expenditure Committee;

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General on Inquiry into the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board by the Social Services Committee; and

Spending Cap (People's Veto) Bill (315-1) by the Finance and Expenditure Committee.
