House Sits Under Extended Hours For Treaty Bills

Parliament resumed at 9 am to deal with a number of treaty settlement bills.

MPs agreed to carry out the second reading debate of the Maraeroa A and B Blocks Claims Settlement Bill, Maraeroa A and B Blocks Incorporation Bill, Ngai Tāmanuhiri Claims Settlement Bill and the Rongowhakaata Claims Settlement Bill.

The Business Committee also agreed that the committee stage was not necessary for these bills and they will be given a third reading next week.
