Are Māori Nazis ruining NZ? 1Law4All's racism

Are Māori Nazis ruining NZ?

by T.K Lewis
June 11, 2013

"OMG. I’ve been hoping someone would compare this to the Nazis. I tried to put an advert in the Herald in the late 90s saying just so...but they refused saying it was inflammatory. I was refused for trying to tell the truth! We are at battle with Maori Nazis…believe it!"

The above comment was made by 'Paul' in reply to the 'Big Lie Theory' posted by the 1LAW4ALL political party on Sunday. The newly formed group has been built solely on policies that attack the Treaty of Waitangi and any real form of cultural integrity in New Zealand. Indeed their key policies involve:

1. Strip from legislation all references to the Treaty of Waitangi and it’s recently invented “principles”.
2. Abolish all race based seats and positions in central and local government.
3. Abolish the Waitangi Tribunal.
4. Ensure that no individual or group has preferment in legislation or funding on grounds of ethnicity.
5. Ensure that there is no constitutional change without the support of three quarters of those voting in a referendum.
6. End the official state promotion and enforcement of divisive bi-culturalism.
7. Repeal the current foreshore and seabed legislation.
8. Withdraw New Zealand from the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Regardless of how far the Māori ‘problem’ has improved over the last thirty years, the societal pendulum of cultural tension is beginning to oscillate away from multicultural lip service and towards the daunting underbelly of monocultural hegemony. The ironically racist article (the Big Lie Theory - part 1) by Aamy Hall, compared Māori to Nazi Germany as well as associating 'New Zealanders' with the Jewish people who suffered the Holocaust. Silhouetted more like a ranting right-wing blog than a political plea for democracy, the article described Māori historical & socio-economic hardship as a lie, postulating that this 'national machination' of the Māori people as a systematic hoax. Hall even went to the extent of comparing this 'ethnic paradigm' to Hitler's "final solution, which sought to eliminate Jews from the face of the earth."

The article points out that for the past 30 years NZ has essentially been under 'Māori Nazi' rule. Funny that, never knew that a ruling sovereignty looked like 13.3% unemployment rate, more than 50% of the 270,000 kids in poverty, and basically every negative statistic on the social gradient. Regardless of 'the truth', the 1LAW4ALL political party is 110% certain that NZ society is continuously being hoodwinked by the Māori people (and other brainwashed citizens). Aamy Hall describes that:

"For the last three decades, in New Zealand, this technique has been, and is being, employed to great effect by the Maori tribal elite in order to gain, unearned and undeserved, enormous wealth and power...a massive transfer of wealth and power to settle claims of an injustice that never occurred in the first place. All too many. All of which goes to show how this one technique alone has worked wonders."

In light of this ignorance, it is important to note that this 'minority' of people continue to tarnish what little race relations our country so desperately grasps. I do agree with one thing though, I think it is obvious that there is a growing gap between the 'Māori elite' and the other 90% of the Māori populace - an issue that needs to be dealt with comprehensively. But in saying that, by no means has the past 170 odd years of colonization been a lie, and in terms of one race being privileged due to the Treaty - it is clearly obvious that the dominant culture have and still are the social group of privilege in New Zealand.

Ignorance still lingers through the modern discussion around ethnicity, and meaningful dialogue continues to reside outside of our nation’s political vocabulary. Māori were not even fully involved in the census until 1951. It is obvious that some people are upset over the so called ‘special’ position of Māori on the basis of an ‘outdated’ and overused Treaty in which Māori seem to be ‘ethnic’ opportunists; endorsed by victimizing, dependent, government initiatives. This overly advertised opinion has subjugated the truth and is arguably a growing normed perspective in New Zealand society; for some the Treaty is a travesty, a waste of financial allocation, and an unwelcomed challenge to the normed worldview of the dominant culture.

As the on goings of the 1840 Waitangi day drew to a close, Hobson infamously coined the phrase that would become synonymous with national ‘unity’; he iwi tahi tatou (we are now one people). In hindsight Hobson’s words, transparently token, cannot be paraded or defended as both the ‘good intentions’ of colonization nor an example of present day cultural ‘appreciation’. If New Zealand struggles to meaningfully engage in a binary relationship then why is society shackled to the belief that our nation cherishes ‘all’ pigments within our cultural kaleidoscope? The contradicting dogmas of our (‘multi’-) cultural nation remains to be a political paradox, I for one am definitely dumbfounded. In fact, what does 'one law for all' practically look like? Right-wing monocultural communism? Cultural Marxism? Bland uniformity? One thing is certain; it will be an interesting election year in 2014.
