Prominent economist to receive NZ Order of Merit

Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton will be presenting Wolfgang Rosenberg with the New Zealand Order of Merit at his home in Christchurch on Sunday.

Wolfgang Rosenberg is one of New Zealand's foremost economists and has published many books and articles on all aspect of economics.

He was also the secretary for the Howard League for Penal Reform and one of the founders of the Council for Civil Liberties.

He was a Reader in economics at Canterbury University for years before becoming a lawyer.

Wolfgang Rosenberg has written extensively about the mistakes of Rogernomics and his book "The Magic Square" was recommended by Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton.
