ACT on Supreme Court ruling

ACT Leader Rodney Hide today said it was pleasing that the Donna Awatere Huata case was finally over, and that ACT could now fully concentrate on the election campaign.

“Standing up for your principles is never cheap, but the country can be assured that ACT does put its principles first. That’s not something that we say about Helen Clark who has made her career in putting expediency first.

“As New Zealanders know going to court is never cheap. We are pleased to have costs awarded. It’s not as much as we had hoped for but it will go so some way to covering our costs.

“ACT can now focus entirely on winning the all important party vote in the coming election,” Mr Hide said.
