Key spins out on carbon tax
John Key ought to take the time to understand economic policy. That way he can avoid making a fool of himself by issuing contradictory statements just five days apart say Convenor of the Ministerial Group on Climate Change Pete Hodgson.
On Friday he said the "carbon tax [was] being used to partly fund the changes" (to business taxation). Today he says: " Dr Cullen’s claim that he is recycling the [carbon] tax is laughable."
"John Key can't have it both ways. He would also be better off supporting positive efforts to transform New Zealand's economy to thrive in a world where emissions of greenhouse gases are now priced," said Pete Hodgson.
