Labour wishes Sue Bradford well

Parliament is losing a strong and passionate advocate for low income workers, unemployed people, beneficiaries and other people who might get a raw deal, Labour Leader Phil Goff said today.

“On behalf of the Labour caucus I would like to wish Green MP Sue Bradford well for her future outside Parliament. She has been a tireless campaigner for workers’ rights, and the unemployed,” Phil Goff said.

“Sue has made a significant impact on Parliament in her decade as an MP and her passion for the causes she fought for as an activist will be missed.

"Parliament will miss her voice and her advocacy, but we know that she's not going to stop working for the causes she has fought for over so many years.

“No doubt we will see her in another significant role sometime in the near future.

“I admire her passion for the causes she fought for, even if I didn’t always agree with everything she said,” Phil Goff said.

Labour Deputy Leader Annette King also paid tribute to the outgoing Green Party MP.

“She’s a highly valued voice in Parliament. Sue will be missed, but we trust she will continue to fight for the people and causes she has all her life, outside the arena of Parliament,” Annette King said.
