Maori Party hits out at Labour’s dangerous politics

The Labour Party is seriously confused and this is evident in the contrasting statements it is making to Maori and mainstream media.

“Labour is telling Maori media that we got peanuts for Maori in the emissions trading scheme. Yet, at the same time it is telling mainstream media that we got too much for Maori in the same deal,” Maori Party climate change spokesperson Rahui Katene said.

“The messages Labour is sending out are dangerous. It is clear to us that Labour is running a campaign to divide Maori and Pakeha.

"We call on both Maori and mainstream media not to get fooled by their shenanigans.”
