MP welcomes Manawatu-Whanganui Growth Study: Opportunities Report

of the Manawatu-Whanganui Growth Study Opportunities
Report.
The Manawatū-Whanganui region has strong growth potential and could become a much more prosperous region if new investment can be attracted into a number of significant opportunities, a new report on the region has found.
Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce and Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy today released theManawatū-Whanganui Growth Study: Opportunities Report, which highlights emerging opportunities in fields as diverse as tourism, aged care and business process outsourcing, as well as scope to build on the region’s existing strengths in the primary sector.
“This report highlights some key areas of growth for our region,” says Jono Naylor.
“It looks at our strengths and areas which we can improve on.
“I am pleased to have Ministers Joyce, Guy and Flavell in Palmerston North today to release this report.
“This is a game changer for our region and will highlight where Palmerston North can grow and develop.
“The opportunities outlined in this report, if implemented, means more investment, more jobs and a thriving economy.
“It is now up to local decision makers to take this report and put in place some of the findings. I will be working with local decision makers to make sure this happens,” says Naylor.
