National's Wellington Central campaign has been kicked off by the selection of MP Annabel Young and high-profile Maori detective Dale Stephens as List nominees.
Ms Young will represent the Party locally in Wellington Central until a decision is made about standing an electorate candidate.
"I was born and educated in Wellington. I don't just talk about this city, Wellington is in my blood" said Ms Young today. She said that she is looking forward to the campaign.
Dale Stephens is a 39-year-old management consultant, married and living in Wellington. He was an inspector when he left the Force last year. While in the Police, Stephens completed a Master of Public Policy. Some voters may remember Stephens from his high-profile work on Crimewatch. Stephens will be the United Kingdom during August as he is the Drum Major of the NZ Police Pipe Band, which is competing in the world championships.
