Family First welcomes heavenly decision from ASA on Hells Pizza
Family First has welcomed the decision of the Advertising Standards Authority which has upheld the record number of complaints against the offensive and unacceptable advertising of Hell’s Pizza using a condom and explicit sex instructions in a letterbox advertising campaign.
“This is a victory for the protection of families from grubby advertising by companies like Hell’s Pizza, and is also a message to other companies who cross the line of what is decent and acceptable to our community,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First which led the campaign which saw a record number of complaints being made to the Advertising Standards Authority (over 600).
“This is a pizza delivery company taking the moral high ground on sex education and telling parents how to give sex education to their kids, implying that all parents have failed at this, and kids as young as five should be exposed to this type of material.”
“Our message to Hell’s Pizza is simple – stay out of the bedroom and get back into the kitchen,”says Mr McCoskrie.
“Parents should be given credit for doing a great job of protecting and educating their children in a sexually explicit culture which makes their job that much tougher.”
Family First thanks the Board of the Advertising Standards Authority for supporting families and upholding the record number of complaints.
Family First will continue its boycott of Hell’s Pizza until a formal apology is offered by the company.
