Destiny polls ahead of established minor parties… again

The latest NZ Herald DigiPoll survey released today showed Destiny NZ polling ahead of United Future, Act and Progressive parties for the second time in consecutive months.

Party leader Richard Lewis attributes the result to Destiny’s consistent ‘traditional family values’ message, particularly in light of its campaign against the anti-smacking bill and other anti-family policies rolled out by the Labour-led Government.

“It’s encouraging to be consistently outpolling established parties such as United Future, Act and Progressives, particularly since we’re currently outside of parliament. Obviously, there is still a lot of work to do with 2008 in mind, but based on these results and the feedback we’re getting at street level, we’re in a good position,” Lewis says.

In 2005 Destiny New Zealand campaigned its first election on a wide range of policies including economics, welfare, education and law & order, with all of the policies based on a message of strengthening families.

“I think people are looking for wholesale changes in 2008 and Destiny New Zealand aims to be a part of that,” Lewis added.
