Appeal to the UN Ambassadors Re: Gaza
Appeal to the UN Ambassadors in regards to the grave
situation in Gaza
Your Excellencies,
I would like to express my utter disgust and utmost condemnation of the actions of the Israeli government and the Hamas terrorist organisation for causing unimaginable pain and suffering against innocent Israeli and Palestinian civilians.
The continual disregard and contempt for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights by the Israeli government is disgraceful. Their blatant complacency for the protection of human life is inhumane.
It is bitterly disappointing to see that the United States of America and several other countries are continuing to make weak demands on the Israeli government to cease the invasion into Gaza but at the same time forcefully pressuring Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel. The demands in my view are very one sided and biased.
The senseless brutality will only prolong the never-ending conflict and could very well destabilise the whole region and cause the cycle of hatred and violence to continue within the younger generations of Palestinians and Israelis for many years to come.
It is my belief that part of the blame for the latest flare up lies with the Palestinian Authority, which continues to have a lack of leadership and is riddled with corruption and self-interest among its elite. The Palestinian Authority has once again failed its people and failed to stop Hamas firing rockets into Israel and therefore I believe that President Mahmoud Abbas should resign for his part in this catastrophic failure.
Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak are already disgraced figures within the Israeli government stuck in limbo but I feel that for their instigation of this invasion they should immediately resign or face an evermore notorious reputation on the international stage.
I urge Your Excellencies and respective governments to strongly condemn the actions taken by the Israeli government and to apply heavy and immediate pressure upon Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak to bring about an immediate ceasefire.
Yours Sincerely,
