The Waikato-Tainui tribe has confirmed that it is not investing in the Maori Television bid for television broadcast rights to the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Waikato-Tainui chairman, Tukoroirangi Morgan, said he personally applauded MTS for its bid, but it did not meet the investment criteria for the tribe.
