Reacting to Science and Innovation Minister Steven Joyce's announcement that taxpayers will be handing over another $1 million to early stage ICT start-ups,Taxpayers' Union Executive Director Jordan Williams says:
“Another week, another million taxpayers' must fork out for Mr Joyce and his officials to pick winners. When will this Government say enough is enough and put a stop to corporate welfare?”
“Despite what politicians say, they do not help business by taxing the many to give handouts to a few sexy industries. If that approach worked, the West would never have won the Cold War."
