Relationships Aotearoa meets with transition providers

Relationships Aotearoa met this morning (Thursday, 28 May) with representatives of four of the five providers appointed by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) to transition RA clients.

In attendance were Barnardos, Presbyterian Support, Stand Children Services and Lifeline. The fifth provider could not make the meeting.

“The purpose of the meeting was to share information about capacity and capability to take on remaining clients who will need a service once RA closes, “ says Cary Hayward, RA interim Board member and Strategic Advisor Practice and Quality.

“RA were able to identify for the providers where demand was likely to be, how clients enter our service and potential staffing options that could support transition” he says.

The transition providers spoke with RA, and then with MSD officials.

“ In addition, RA continues to talk with government funders in the time available left to us. “ Cary says.

“Transition of clients and supporting staff are our primary focus.”
