BROADCASTER JENNY MARCROFT TO CONTEST TAMAKI SEAT FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

Jenny Marcroft, has been named as the New Zealand First candidate to contest the Tamaki seat in the coming general election.

An award winning broadcaster and former teacher Ms Marcroft has over 30 years experience as a broadcaster and communicator. She has spent an extensive part of her career in radio, television and other media.

Prior to taking up her career in broadcasting she trained as and worked as a teacher in New Zealand and the UK. She is a graduate of the University of Waikato and Hamilton Teachers College with degrees and diplomas in education and teaching.

Jenny Marcroft has provided her expertise voluntarily to her Nga Puhi iwi and has made a significant contribution in that regard.

“New Zealand First is delighted to be bringing forward Jenny Marcroft as its candidate for Tamaki in this years general election,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.

“Jenny Marcroft is a most talented communicator. With over 30 years of front line experience in the broadcasting world she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team. Her list of awards speaks for itself,” he noted.

JULIAN PAUL TO BE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE FOR EPSOM IN 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Julian Paul will be the party’s candidate in Epsom in the 2017 election.

A sales specialist and martial arts teacher Mr Paul has played a major role in developing the youth electorate of New Zealand First and has been a driving force behind the emerging New Zealand First support in Auckland.

“New Zealand First is fortunate that it has a wealth of young talent emerging within its ranks,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said.

“I am excited to announce today that Julian Paul is to be our candidate for Epsom in the 2017 general election,” said Mr Peters today.

“Julian is a sales specialist with a particular strength in customer service and customer relations. It is this strong empathy with people and their needs that sets this man apart,” said Mr Peters.

“His entry into the Epsom election fray will put other parties on notice that New Zealand First is in Epsom with serious intent,” he concluded.

MAHESH BINDRA MP TO BE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE FOR MT ROSKILL IN 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Sitting list MP, Mahesh Bindra, will stand for New Zealand First in the Mt Roskill electorate in the general election.

Mr Bindra entered parliament in 2014. A former Corrections Officer with the Department of Corrections he holds a BA (Hons) degree in Political Science and Psychology.

Within the New Zealand First caucus Mr Bindra is the spokesperson for Corrections, Customs, LINZ and Ethnic Affairs.

Mr Bindra, the founding trustee of the Hindi Language and Culture Trust of NZ, also holds governance positions with the Bhartiya Salvaj Charitable Trust, and is active in the Auckland Indian Association and the Manakau Indian Association. He has strong international connections.

“Mahesh Bindra’s experience has played an important role in the New Zealand First caucus and in the parliament for the past three years,” the Leader of New Zealand First, the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.

“His insights into the ethnic make up of New Zealand and his practical and pragmatic policy solutions that address the stresses faced by all immigrants have been greatly appreciated, he concluded.

ILJA RUPPELDT THE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE FOR EAST COAST BAYS IN GENERAL ELECTION

Business owner and operator and digital producer Ilja Ruppeldt has been confirmed as the New Zealand First candidate for East Coast Bays in the coming general election.

Mr Ruppleldt who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Performing Arts in Czechoslovakia and qualifications from the Waikato Polytechnic, The European Broadcasting Union, the Goethe Institute and others, has a strong background in developing and producing media projects for a wide range of commercial and political clients both in New Zealand and overseas.

He s a linguist fluent in English, Russian, German, Czech, Spanish and Slovak.

Ilja Ruppeldt is a highly qualified digital media producer. He has serious international experience with a depth of knowledge of politics and commercial activities across the global spectrum,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.

“We welcome him as a candidate in East Coast Bays where we know he will make a significant impression on the voters of that electorate,” he concluded.

DR DAVID WILSON TO CONTEST THE TE ATATU SEAT FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

The CEO of Northland Inc., Dr David Wilson, was today announced as the New Zealand First candidate in the Te Atatu seat for the forthcoming general election.

Dr Wilson, took up the role of CEO of Northland Inc. in 2013 and through positive and visionary leadership quickly transformed it into a high performing organisation.

Dr Wilson holds s a PhD, from AUT University a Master of Public Policy and BA (Psychology and Social Policy) from Massey University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business from Auckland University.

He holds governance positions with a wide range of local and international economic and development organisations including the Economic Development Association of NZ, the Te Tai Tokerau Northland Action Plan Working Group, the Australia and New Zealand Regional Science Association International and others.

“I am delighted to be announcing David Wilson as our candidate in Te Atatu,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.

Dr Wilson has an international standing in the field of economic and regional development.

JON REEVES SELECTED AS THE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE IN HUNUA FOR 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Jon Reeves a director and founder of Network Media has been selected to be the New Zealand First candidate in Hunua at the forthcoming general election.

Mr Reeves has a long history in marketing across all media platforms. He has operated both in New Zealand and Europe and has strong international business connections.

Mr Reeves is also fluent in French.

He holds an Advanced Diploma of Management, a Diploma of Management and the NZ Diploma of Business from AUT University

In a voluntary capacity he is the co-founder and coordinator of the Public Transport Users Association and the campaign manager for the Campaign for Better Transport (NZ).

“Mr Reeves brings to the Party significant marketing skills and a deep knowledge of public transport. His candidacy is welcome and we have no doubt that he has a major role to play in public life,” said the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters when announcing

MATAROA PARORO TO STAND FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN MANGERE IN GENERAL ELECTION

Mataroa Paroro the owner and managing director of an airtight networks wireless intrusion prevention product company is to be the New Zealand First candidate in Mangere in the 2017 general election.

Mr Paroro holds a Diploma in Theology, a Lay Evangelists Certificate, a Diploma in Marketing from AUT University.

Mr Paroro is a qualified IT specialist with strong ties to the community. He plays significant roles in Cook Islands organisations across Auckland.

“Mataroa Paroro is a firm advocate for New Zealand First’s values and principles,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said when announcing the candidacy today.

“His commitment to his community through his church activities make him a most suitable candidate for Mangere,” he concluded.

KEN MAHON IS NEW ZEALAND FIRST’S CANDIDATE FOR MAUNGAKIEKIE IN GENERAL ELECTION

Company Director Ken Mahon will be the New Zealand First candidate in Maungakiekie in the 2017 general election.

With his wife and business partner Mr Mahon owns and operates a private investment company, focusing on the food industry and retailing including online retailing.

He is a business mentor.

Prior to local government amalgamations Mr Mahon served as a councillor on the former Papatoetoe Borough Council

“Ken Mahon is a true entrepreneur who brings to New Zealand First and Maugakiekie a well-rounded outlook and a valuable set of life experiences,” said the New Zealand First Leader, the Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

“He has a valuable contribution to make to the public life of New Zealand,” he said.

ANDREW LITTLEJOHN TO STAND FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN MT ALBERT IN GENERAL ELECTION

Quality control expert, Andrew Littlejohn, is to stand for New Zealand First in the Mt Albert electorate in the 2017 general election.

A graduate of Lincoln University Mr Littlejohn holds a B Ag. Com. And a Dip Ag, Science.

He is also the holder of the National Certificate in Real Estate (Unitech).

Mr Littlejohn has served on the Mt Albert Historical Society Committee and on the Board of the Remuera Golf Club.

“We welcome Andrew Littlejohn to the New Zealand First team.” The leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.

“He has demonstrated a significant knowledge of his community and the issues affecting it,” he said.

KYM KOLONI TO STAND FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN NORTHCOTE IN 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Licensed Financial Adviser and business owner, Kym Koloni is New Zealand First’s candidate in Northcote for the 2017 general election.

Ms Koloni holds an impressive list of qualifications related to her professional life.

Defined by her strong entrepreneurial characteristic Ms Koloni has developed a successful financial services business.

She has also served as Chair of the Howick and Pakuranga Toy Library, the Botany Plunket Committee and is an active member of the Drury Rotary Club.

SUZANNE KELLY TO STAND FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN PAKURANGA IN 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

Company Director Suzanne Kelly has been named as the New Zealand First candidate to contest the Pakuranga electorate in the 2017 general election.

Ms Kelly is a highly motivated and successful business owner and operator with extensive business networks in New Zealand and Australia.

Ms Kelly was a Westpac Manukau Business Award finalist in 2004 in recognition of her company’s growth in its first year of operation.

Her interests lie in national and global politics, boating and fishing. She is a keen student of languages and is an enthusiastic cyclist.

“Suzanne Kelly brings a well-honed business acumen to this campaign,” the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters said when announcing her candidacy today.

“She knows her electorate and its issues well and will be advocating effectively for them as she seeks the party vote in Pakuranga,” he concluded.


JANE JOHNSTON CONFIRMED AS THE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE IN UPPER HARBOUR IN GENERAL ELECTION

Jane Johnston a planner and policy analyst has been selected to contest the Upper Harbour seat for New Zealand First in the 2017 general election.

A graduate of Auckland University, Auckland College and Massey University Ms Johnston hold a BSc (Auckland) Diploma of Teaching (Auckland College of Education) and a MPhil in Resource and Environment Management (Massey).

Ms Johnston has held key policy positions in both central and local government

She has also been a secondary school teacher and is a published author in the conservation field.

Ms Johnston has a strong record of community service. She has been a basketball and softball coach, and held governance roles and memberships of the Paihia and District Ratepayers Association, Keri Keri Ratepayers Association, Bay of Islands Community Centre and the Paihia War Memorial Hall Committee.

JOSHUA HUBBARD SELECTED TO CONTEST NORTH SHORE FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

Self-employed business consultant Joshua Hubbard has been selected to contest the North Shore seat for New Zealand First in the general election in September

Mr Hubbard started his working life as a vehicle serviceman and is a graduate of Auckland University with the degree of Bachelor of Law (LlB). He also holds qualifications from Canterbury University where he studied Law, Political Science, Russian and Te Reo Maori.

In his business activities he focuses legal and political strategy.

He remains an avid car and machinery enthusiast.

Mr Hubbard has an extensive record of community and volunteer service. He held a number of voluntary positions while a student (VP and President of the Maori Law Students Association, President of the Russian Club and was a member of the law faculty board at Canterbury University.

In the community he is a senior member of the Matakana Volunteer Fire Brigade and has been heavily engaged in youth work.

“Joshua Hubbard is going to be a long term asset for New Zealand First,” said the Leader of the Party the Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

JOHN HALL TO STAND IN MANUREWA FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

The well-known community worker John Hall will be contesting the Manurewa seat for New Zealand First in the general election this year.

Mr Hall is a life long resident of Manurewa. He has a sound knowledge of the electorate and its issues and its needs.

His community involvement is extensive and goes to the heart of the community.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees at James Cook HS, sits on the board of the Manurewa Cosmopolitan Club, President of the Counties Manukau Softball association, and Softball Umpires Association, he coaches softball at James Cook HS, is Chair of Te Pou Herenga Waka Marae and Chair of the Maori Bi-lingual unit at Greenmeadows Intermediate School.

“There are not many parts of the Manurewa community that John Hall has not touched, “ said the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Paters today.

“His community influence is remarkable. Whether it be sport, youth work, education or generating community networks John Hall has had arealL influence,’ he noted.


TOA GREENING SELECTED TO CONTEST PAPAKURA FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

Papakura based Information Engineering Consultant, Toa Greening, has been selected to contest the Papakura seat for New Zealand First in the forthcoming general election.

Mr Greening holds the degree of Bachelor of Technology from Massey University and has a long career in Information technology.

He is a certified Microsoft Systems Engineer, a Citrix certified Administrator and Network Associate, a Cisto Certified Design Associate and a certifies Novel administrator.

He has been engaged as a consultant by a wide range of major commercial clients.

His community involvement is extensive. He is a Manurewa Local Board member and a former Papatoetoe Community Board Member. He holds or has held voluntary governance positions in community organisations, the National Environmental Society and Manukau District Crime watch organisation.

“Toa Greening is dedicated to his community,” said the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

“His knowledge of local issues is extensive and he will represent those issues very effectively throughout the campaign, “ he said.

FRANK EDWARDS THE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE IN AUCKLAND CENTRAL FOR GENERAL ELECTION

Entrepreneur Frank Edwards will be the New Zealand First candidate in Auckland Central in the 2017 general election.

Mr Edwards is a well-known Auckland businessman who has been engaged in skateboard manufacturing and marketing for almost four decades.

Mr Edwards has strong international business connections.

He is a graduate of Auckland University (B Com).

He was the driving force behind the creation of the skate bowl in Victoria Park in central Auckland.

Frank Edwards is a welcome addition to the New Zealand First team,” said the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

His international business experience, his deep knowledge of Auckland Central and its needs coupled with his rapport with young New Zealanders make him a strong representative for New Zealand First,” he concluded.

WILLIAM FLESHER SELECTED TO CONTEST MANUKAU EAST FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST IN GENERAL ELECTION

Law, Politics and Sociology Student, William Flesher, is the New Zealand First candidate for Manukau East in the 2017 general election.

He is working for a food service company while working toward his degree qualification.

Mr Flesher is a committed Christian and volunteers significant time and energy to church based activities and to serving his community through those activities.

“William Flesher is another example of the young and dedicated cohort of New Zealand First members who are emerging as our future,” said the Leader of New Zealand First the Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

“His faith based approach to community service is one that is giving him a hands on appreciation of the needs of the community. This young man will be heard of in the future as he takes up his position in the national spotlight,” he concluded.
