Protest March Against
the GCSB and Related Legislation Bill – Cuba Street
(Bucket Fountain) March to Parliament
Today (Saturday 27th) hundreds in Wellington will be meeting at the bucket fountain, Cuba Street at 2pm and marching to Parliament in a Nationwide Day of Action calling on the Government to abandon the GCSB and Related Legislation Bill, close the GCSB, end the `five eyes spying agreement, initiate a public enquiry into the intelligence and security agencies, publically release the names of the 88 people who were illegally spied on and confirm that the GCSB did or didn’t participate in NSA mass surveillance programmes.
“This Communications Security Bureau and Related Legislation Amendment Bill is military grade spying being turned on a civilian population. This legislation, along with the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement poses the greatest threat to our civil liberties and freedom.
