Dunedin South chooses Voight

Health practitioner Warren Voight has been selected as the Dunedin South electorate candidate for Democrats for Social Credit.

“As a candidate in this year’s General Election, I am excited to be representing Democrats for Social Credit and celebrating sixty years as a political party” Mr Voight told local members in Dunedin on Sunday night.

“The Democrats for Social Credit slogan encompasses what I stand for: ‘economy, equality, ecology’.

“I think people have had enough: enough indebtedness, enough inequality and poverty, and enough exploitation of our environment as a result of narrow ideologically-driven development policies. The Democrats for Social Credit Party has consistently held to policies promoting real economic reform as a basis of ensuring a more equal society.

“The lurching left to right pattern of rotating governments has resulted in New Zealand becoming increasingly indebted, unequal, and with an environment under threat due to short sighted policies - the end result of relying on failed the economic theories of last century.

“Blind faith in debt ridden fiscal reform policies based on interest bearing credit sourced from private lending institutions is certain to make things worse. Following that agenda is like hoping to dig one's way out of a hole.

Mr Voight said that he believes the Democrats for Social Credit Party has the policies to bring real change and improvement.

“Innovation and investment in cutting edge technologies will make New Zealand more self sufficient. Our sovereignty is under threat from proposed TPPA deals weighted heavily in favour of the USA corporates and spy agencies. We will ensure protection of our environment from exploitation and sale to foreign corporate interests.

“Such things are promised by others, but without the key which involves reducing control by private overseas banks of the money supply thereby reducing interest bearing debt, we will remain under influence of international financiers.

“Reserve Bank Credit lines must be utilised to ensure interest free or low interest money is spent into the economy to reduce the fiscal drag of interest bearing debt”.

Warren Voight is the Party’s Local Government Spokesman, and Broadcasting Spokesman.
