Prof David Coats - Developing a New Economic Agenda for the Left -

I would like to invite you to hear David Coats discuss this topic on Thursday March 12 at LT3 Old Government Buildings at 5:30pm. The Global Financial Crisis should have presented an opportunity for social democrats to make the case for a very different economic and social model, yet in many countries parties of the left are struggling to articulate a compelling critique of the status quo and a persuasive vision for the future. David Coats will explain how social democrats in the UK have begun to address this challenge with specific reference to the forthcoming general election.”

David Coats is visiting professor at the Centre for Sustainable Work and Employment Futures at the University of Leicester and also a research fellow at the Smith Institute in London. His most recent work for them was on poverty, income inequality and workplace democracy.

All welcome. If you would like to attend, please register here.
