Rebels Say Jacobs' Name-Calling Isn't Isolated
Clint Heine, President of Prebble's Rebels, said that Labour's labelling of ACT as fascists was disgusting, but common practise within the Labour Party.
Mr Heine said "as far as the Rebels are concerned, David Jacobs' comment yesterday is not an isolated incident. Young Labour have called the Rebels fascists in a recent newsletter, and it is obviously part of the Labour Party's culture that those who disagree with their ideas are automatically labelled fascists and Nazis, rather than approached with an open mind."
Mr Heine said that Jewish Rebels have written to David Jacobs and Helen Clark asking for an apology, but have yet to receive a reply, let alone an apology.
"To suggest that Prebble's Rebels or ACT is anti-semitic is slanderous rubbish. Prebble's Rebels was co-founded by a Jew, who now sits on ACT's Board of trustees. My experience has been that ACT supporters tolerate everything except intolerance."
Mr Heine said "the Rebels are disgusted at this stupid statement by a candidate who knows the voters of Epsom are set to soundly reject him. With first the Labour Party President and now one of their candidates going off the rails, we wonder how many more bad apples are going to roll out of the closet before November 27."
