Dell Further Enhances Customer Choice Through New Distributor Relationship In Australia And New Zealand
Altech Computers Corporation appointed Dell’s printer distribution partner
SYDNEY, Australia, and AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 1 March, 2011 – In response to feedback from customers and partners, Dell today is adding to its fast-growing PartnerDirect program by offering selected Dell printing products through leading IT distributor, Altech Computers Corporation.
Thirteen of Dell’s single and multi-function monochrome and colour laser printers will be made available to partners and customers through Altech. Altech will also manage cartridge fulfillment for selected models across Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement with Altech will expand Dell’s footprint and capabilities for small and medium sized business printing solutions, as well as increase speed of supply, enhance depth of knowledge and enable greater face-to-face customer engagement.
“This agreement enables Dell to increase customer choice, provide flexibility, and offer accelerated printer product delivery to most partners and their commercial customers who have immediate technology needs,” said Jay Turner, director of Dell’s channel business in Australia and New Zealand. “Partners value Dell’s strong supply chain, however they’re telling us there are times when customers’ needs are more urgent, and this agreement shows our commitment to ensure their requirements are better met.”
Antony Sheen, Managing Director of Altech, said “This is the first time Dell products are to be sold via a distributor in Australia, and Altech is honoured to be chosen as a printer distributor for both the Australian and New Zealand markets.”
Following several major printer launches in 2010, Dell Australia and New Zealand has now rounded out its printer family with its most comprehensive line-up, providing over 85 per cent coverage of printing solutions chosen by customers in Australia and New Zealand.
“Altech is one of Australasia's fastest growing IT distribution companies and has office and warehouse facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland,” said Turner. “Their strong customer focus complements Dell’s drive to help partners most effectively meet the needs of their customers, deliver value and grow their business.”
“Altech has a large portfolio and adding Dell’s extensive range of laser printers will greatly enhance our position in the distribution market and increase the breadth of choice for resellers that Altech strives to offer. Altech welcomes Dell to its distribution family and we look forward to a long and mutually rewarding partnership,” said Sheen.
Dell’s distribution agreement represents
further development of its global PartnerDirect program,
which has more than 50,000 registered partners in 148
countries.
