Goodbye settled spell
Goodbye settled spell
After several days of fine weather for most, courtesy of a large high,it will be back to the raincoats for some as a trough slowly crosses the country this week, says MetService Media and Communications Meteorologist Daniel Corbett.
Rain is expected across western parts of the South Island during Tuesday. On Wednesday, heavy falls are possible in Nelson and across parts of Northland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty.
Late in the week, drier weather is expected over southern and central parts of the country as a new ridge of high pressure exerts its influence.A low to the north of New Zealand may bring a spell of easterly rain to some North Island places on Thursday or Friday, but there is still some uncertainty with the detail at this point.
