Notice of hearing for Solvigo application
The EPA advises a hearing is scheduled for an application to import Solvigo, an insecticide used to treat thrips and other insect pest in commercial onion crops.

The hearing will be held on Thursday 25 September, at the Terrace Conference Centre, St John’s House, 114 The Terrace, Wellington. It will commence at 9.45 and adjourn at approximately 1.15pm.

The emphasis of the hearing will be on the effects, risks, cost and benefits of Solvigo throughout its lifecycle.

The EPA’s role is to oversee applications for hazardous substances under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act. We put controls in place to manage the risks of hazardous substances to safeguard people and the environment.
