GAZA, Palestine, August 18,205 (IPC+Agencies)---State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Wednesday USA condemned such act of violence and expressed it deep sorrow over the terror attacks against the Palestinian workers by a settlers, killing four and wounding another in Shilo settlement.
McCormack added that the U.S. was "in contact with both sides and we are urging them to keep the peace and respect the rule of law of all sides. We are again asking for restraint to be shown, so that the situation does not deteriorate."
Javier Solana, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy has strongly condemned killing of Palestinian workers by a Israeli settlers on Wednesday.
"I strongly condemn the attack on Palestinian civilians near the northern West Bank settlement of Shiloh."
"It is crucial that the sense of restraint we have witnessed so far on both sides will continue to prevail beyond the end of the Disengagement Process," said Solana in a statement issued in Brussels Wednesday night.
Commenting on the ongoing disengagement of Israeli civilians and military forces from the Gaza Strip and the northern West Bank, Solana said he renewed his assurances of continued EU support.
"Israeli disengagement is a historic opportunity that needs to be seized," said the EU foreign policy chief.
"The successful outcome of Disengagement will offer a momentous step for a peaceful future for Israelis and Palestinians, living side-by-side and enjoying security, economic prosperity and social well-being."
The EU is already strongly engaged in support of Disengagement and the Middle East Peace Process.
It remains at hand to do whatever it can to help more, at the request of the parties, noted Solana.
To this point, the "Israeli Peace Block" condemned the terrorist attack by the settlers killing for as a terror act thrown the series Israeli state-sponsored terrorism, aiming to sabotage the evacuation of the settlement in the strip in the last moment.
