Fiji Regime Invokes Public Emergency Law
Fiji's military regime has this afternoon invoked the public emergency regulation, reimposing a state of emergency on the Pacific island nation.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has said the regulation was invoked at mid-day today, following the return of ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase from exile.
The interim Attorney General of the Fiji Government will hold a press conference later this afternoon.
