Kevin Rudd Out Of Touch

"It is obvious from the misleading, mischievous, arrogant and bully comments by Kevin Rudd, the Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs on New Zealand TV1 Q+ A (Question & Answer) program on Sunday, March 27, 2011 that he has no understanding or don't want to know the Fiji situation" " said Alton Shameem JP, the New Zealander-Fijian Community, Multi-Cultural, National and International Leader, Founder/ Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCoNZ), Young Executive Club (YEC), Fiji Council New Zealand (FCNZ) and the All Ethnic Congress (AEC).

"Kevin Rudd is behaving like a spin doctor and is trying to sabotage the Fiji Government and the Fijians and is acting like a big bully instead of helping Fiji move forward as the Fijians so rightly desire and wish.

For Kevin Rudd and other misguided souls like him, for them to fully understand the situation in Fiji, they should read the book Tears in Paradise by Rajendra Prasad www.tearsinparadise.co.nz to purchase your copies.

It is no wonder that Kevin Rudd was rolled over as the Prime Minister of Australia by Honorable Julia Gillard because of his gross misunderstanding of foreign and other situations, and it is obvious that he is the wrong person in all the wrong places" said Alton Shameem JP, the indigenous Fijian Leader, Ethnic, Civic, National and International Leader, Founder/ Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCoNZ), Young Executive Club (YEC), Fiji Council New Zealand (FCNZ) and the All Ethnic Congress (AEC),

"Eighty five per cent of the Fijians are supportive of the Fiji Government including the 99.9 per cent of the Pacific Islands and the Asian governments. Even the European Union is supporting Fiji in trade, commerce and urges Fiji to do more in economic development" said Alton Shameem JP the indigenous Fijian Leader, Ethnic, Civic, National and International Leader, Founder/ Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCoNZ), Young Executive Club (YEC), Fiji Council New Zealand (FCNZ) and the All Ethnic Congress (AEC),

Says the European Union's Pacific Ambassador, Wiepke Van Der Goot "I encourage the fishing industry to continue with the upgrading of the fisheries export facilities and to increase the number of approved fishing vessels, as this would further enhance the economic development of Fiji.

"We are witnessing some great strides in the upgrading of the fishing industry in Fiji. From our side (EU) we are pleased to have been one of the partners in this challenging and, in the end, a very rewarding venture."

I believe we should commend the Fiji authorities, the Competent Authority and the Food Unit team for this outstanding performance. All this has only been possible thanks to the dedication and tireless work of this team and some of the leaders in the fishing industry."

At the same time, I am happy to say, that we were able to provide some assistance through the EU SFP Programme for fisheries in the person of Dr John Esser, followed by several other short term Technical Assistance missions and the provision of some cars and lab equipment."

Alton Shameem JP said "It is all well known fact that our European brothers and sisters are big consumers of fishery products with a per capita consumption of 25 Kilograms per year on average, making the European Union (EU) the largest importer of fish in the world with a total market of around 500 million consumers. Approximately, 60 per cent of European Union's required fishing products are sourced from developing and third countries".

" This s the sort of engaging, caring help our New Zealand and Australian government should be doing with our very close neighbor Fiji and learn from the European Union, USA, Asian and other countries, and not to miss the boat so to speak" said Alton Shameem JP the New Zealander-Native Fijian Leader, Ethnic, Civic, National and International Leader, Founder/ Chairman and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCoNZ), Young Executive Club (YEC), Fiji Council New Zealand (FCNZ) and the All Ethnic Congress (AEC),
