Air Adventure makes Australian Outback more accessible

Flying is the best way to access the vast Australian Outback and Air Adventure Australia now brings the landscape and its people even closer with a new addition to the skies.

The recent acquisition of the 'Outback Jet' (Cessna 441 Conquest II) will make Outback Australia not only more accessible but much more comfortable.

John Dyer, Managing Director of Air Adventure Australia says, "Outback Australia is large and diverse making it challenging to explore in a short amount of time. Air Adventure has been defeating the tyranny of this distance for over 35 years through private aircraft, small groups of no more than 10 people and unparalleled knowledge of the outback.”

"We are proud to now offer an even better, faster, more comfortable way to see remote Australia." With a brand new interior, the onboard comfort is exceptional with leather reclining seats, powerful air conditioning, and equipped with a PA system for in-flight commentary. The Outback Jet’s technology is also first rate with state of the art Garmin avionics and an iPad on board for live flight progress data and destination information.

"Our belief has always been that outback Australia should be enjoyed as it was supposed to - authentic outback experiences, interaction with locals and getting deep in to the rich history of the land by accessing the hard to reach places," John says.

"The sheer size of Australia and limited access to often the best parts tends to hinder the ability to experience this great landscape, which is why seeing it by private aircraft is so appealing. There are no check-in lines for starters and because the Outback Jet has exceptional short airfield capabilities we can land where other larger planes wish they could. This means getting you right in to the 'real' outback."

Currently enjoying an extensive refit, the Outback Jet will take to the skies for the first time on an Air Adventure trip in early 2013. Departures during the year include Cape York & The Gulf, Western Wedge Wildflower Safari and the Heart of the Flinders Ranges.

The inspirational landscapes are complimented with excellent cuisine and accommodation - Bullo River Station in the Northern Territory where guests overnight at a cattle station; The Bush Camp at Faraway Bay, in the Kimberley where each of eight cabins overlook the Timor Sea, and the African inspired safari camp of Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef nestled in white sand dunes.

With no more than 90 minutes spent in the air on any flight, the Outback Jet significantly reduces travelling time, which means more time to explore each destination. "The aircraft's performance also allows us to fly ‘low and slow’ and the large clear windows also make for magnificent scenic flights. What’s more – every set is a window seat!" John says.

Air Adventure's Outback Jet is also available for customised tours and exclusive group charters for between 4 - 10 people.
