Sunergise to power Fiji rebuild

Sunergise, the kiwi company bringing solar power to the Pacific, has launcheda project crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe to reconnect thousands of Fijian homes with emergency solar power packs.

Following the devastation of Cyclone Winston last week, hundreds of thousands of Fijians have been left without water, shelter and power.

Sunergise Co-Founder Lachlan McPherson said they were turning to their crowd to help Fiji shine again.

“Fijian people are so inspiring, they are always smiling, and continue to do so even in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston,” Mr PcPherson said.

“We want to help the affected Fijian families rebuild in a way that helps them reduce the effects of climate change. These solar kits give them the power they need now, and into the future.

“Right now we are distributing the solar power kits we had in storage and we need our crowd’s help to bring in more.”

PledgeMe team member Barry Grehan said that the campaign will give many Fijians the opportunity to rebuild their lives and communities.

“The islands have been hit extremely hard over the past week but, with the collective support of Sunergise’s crowd and the New Zealand public, we can help to power the recovery.

“PledgeMe is proud to host a campaign that aims to make such a simple yet powerful and immediate impact.”

Creative agency, Colenso BBDO, are supporting the campaign.

Sunergise’s campaign is live at pldg.me/fiji and closes in eight days.
