Hutt City Council Seeks Public Feedback

Hutt City Council will be conducting a survey of its residents as part of its on-going commitment to measuring and improving the quality of its services and how they are delivered.

The survey will start on Friday, 8th March, and should be completed on Sunday, 17th March.

"Our staff are committed to achieving high standards of performance and it is important to see how well those efforts are carrying through to our residents. The best way to do this is to interview a representative cross-section of residents, and to have this done by an independent professional group to ensure impartiality," said Jehan Eltigi, Hutt City's Research Manager.

People living in all six Wards of the City will be telephoned, using a randomised selection method, and asked their opinions on a wide ranging list of services and issues pertaining to the Council and the services it delivers to the residents of the City.

This initiative is in the spirit of the changes in local government, whereby Councils are urged to take a proactive stance in understanding and meeting residents' wishes.

National Research Bureau, a professional organisation offering specialised services to Local Authorities throughout New Zealand, has been commissioned to undertake the study and report to Council.
