Easter Sunday With A Difference At Ambury
March 22, 2002
Families are invited to take part in a treasure hunt with a difference at Ambury Regional Park on Easter Sunday.
It’s a hunt for litter along the beach on Sunday 31 March.
As this hunt is going on, an Easter Bunny will be hiding Easter eggs for children to find after taking part in the litter hunt.
“The Ambury Easter hunt is a great way for families to have fun on Easter Sunday and help Auckland’s environment at the same time,” says ARC Parks and Heritage Committee Chairman Bill Burrill.
“The Manukau harbour is internationally important for nesting shore birds and the rare Hector’s dolphin. Rubbish along the foreshore and in the water can be a real hazard for these animals,” Cr Burrill says.
“Come along, bring your family and enjoy looking after one of our natural masterpieces this Easter.’
The day starts at 10am and will finish around 1pm. Helpers will be provided with rubber gloves. Ambury Regional Park is located in Ambury Rd Mangere Bridge and there will be signs from the Mangere Bridge shopping centre to direct people to the Easter hunt.
