Transdev Disappointed At WRC Decision

“We are disappointed that we have not been chosen by the Wellington Regional Council as its preferred partner for the possible purchase of Tranz Metro from Tranzrail”, Asia/Pacific Regional Director of TRANSDEV, Jean Pierre Soulie, said today.

“However, we stand ready to work with the region in the event that the council’s association with the chosen company does not proceed as well as might be expected, or other impediments to progress become apparent.

“We believe that our joint venture with RATP, the Paris urban transport operator, could have ensured a high standard of service to the Tranz Metro network as there is much scope to improve both service levels and the quality of rolling stock. Further, our involvement in the WRC selection process has given us a detailed understanding of the region’s requirements.

“We wish the Wellington Regional Council the best of good fortune in proceeding with its joint venture operation and are keen to maintain a constructive relationship with the region.”
