Painted apple moth - Ninth Targeted Aerial Operation

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s ninth operation of targeted aerial spraying against the painted apple moth in west Auckland was completed shortly after 8:40am today.
MAF managed to finish the 900 hectare spray zone this morning after high winds forced the targeted aerial operation to be called off on Sunday.
Areas completed this morning were the seaward margins of Te Atatu, Glendene and Kelston. While Sunday saw the rest of the spray zone completed including: The Waikumete Cemetery, The seaward margins of the Avondale Peninsula and Waterview ; Low lying land alongside the north-western motorway between the Lincoln Road and Point Chevalier/Waterview motorway ramps, including Traherne Island; Vegetation along Henderson Creek and across to Central Park Drive Land on both sides of Huruhuru Creek in Massey West and Henderson; extending south through Swanson Rd and Universal Drive intersection to the railway line in Henderson; A small area between Malam St, Tahi Terrace and Rua Road Reserve in Glen Eden.
The next aerial operation is scheduled to start 14 October – weather permitting.
